We need one pin, Rodney....ONE PIN!!!

If I were the Cowboys last night, I would have gone for it on 4th and less than a yard 100 times out of 100. First of all, it seems that gaining a half a yard is better than a 50-50 proposition. Parcells has made a career of going for it on 4th down and making it. Playing to win, not to lose.

Most of all, I am guessing Seattle would have just let the Cowboys score, fearful of them getting a first down but no TD, which would have allowed Dallas to bleed the clock to line up for a chipshot Field Goal. Plus, by doing that, you are going for the win and the throat and forcing Seattle to go for a touchdown. Best case scenario by going for the field goal, Seattle has plenty of time to drive down for a game-winning FG.

I said this to myself BEFORE Tony Romo (not TONY) bobbled the snap, by the way.

One good thing about Romo, is that in the post-game press conference, he owned it. Dallas lost this game a thousand different ways before this FG attempt, but he owned it. I have to respect that. No blaming "protection issues", as someone else did last year after losing. However, I do think he needs to grow more of a thick skin about things like this, hanging his head, etc. As it turns out he did have one more chance, but it wasn't meant to be.

Interestingly, after the game he walked off pretty much all alone. No one came up to console him - on the bench, off the field, anywhere. Warrants mentioning. That's too bad, although I do think he is not all that he is that team's best option right now.
